All workshops are preceded by a twenty-minute performance from Bang On! to give the children an insight into junk drumming and to inspire and encourage their creativity.

We have two types of children's workshop, a one hour 'Junk Percussion' workshop and a one and a half hour 'Recycling' workshop.

The one hour 'Junk Percussion' workshops vary according to the age of the children, we cater for all ages between reception and year 8. These workshops start by examining our performance and looking at how and what we played. We then move on to get all the children playing. The workshops end with a performance by the class demonstrating what they have learnt.

The new 'Recycling' workshop is especially for children from reception up to year 4. This one and a half hour workshop incorporates all the elements of the 'Junk Percussion' workshop as well as an extra section devoted to recycling awareness and the importance of the 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

We can generally cater for up to 30 children per workshop, however this may vary depending on age and ability. For more details or to book a workshop, please email us!

"The incredible percussion duo Bang On! were such an inspiration when they came to kindergarten earlier this year that the music department invited them back to work with Grade 3 students.

The students were thrilled by the music they were able to play together, and it was a delight to see the way that each group came up with something unique."

We have a workshop called 'The Human Drum Kit' that is specifically designed for larger groups of any age! The workshop always follows a performance allowing the participants to see what is possible and then have a go themselves. The Human Drum Kit can be anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour in length and is a highly interactive session that gets everyone involved, working together as a team and being creative. Please contact us to discuss details and we can cater to suit your needs.
